What this wine tells us
One of those reds that are naturally sweet. The four months of aging in the barrel favor it and subtly accompany the wine’s aroma. Very lean and fragrant bouquet, with hints of flowers and plums. The area’s maturity is apparent in the nose, which is not warm, but does show fine ripening. On the palate, it is easy, quite commercial, and very well balanced, making it one of the best for dining and among the least boring of this variety on the Canary Islands.
Its dancing partner
Marvelous with a pork-mojo stew.
Trivia
It is made from grapes that were planted in the 1990s on one of the first Syrah vineyard on the Canary Islands. This wine has debunked the notion that Southern Tenerife reds are of inferior quality, given that it has been awarded countless prizes at competitions and blind tasting events, challenging reds from all over the archipelago.
