HIGUERA MAYOR WINERY
La Higuera Mayor
Red aged in barrel made from Listán Negro and Negramoll (75%) as well as Tintilla and Castellana grapes (25%)
Gran Canaria Protected Designation of Origin

What this wine tells us
La Higuera Mayor quickly became a classic among the island’s brands. Its special qualities are the result of the blend of the wine and the passion and personality of its maker, which assuredly does not go unnoticed at wine fairs or events that take place in Gran Canaria. It is one of the “densest” of the Denomination thanks to low yields, the careful handling of the estate, and the unusual mixture of varietals. It has mineral touches marked by the volcanic ash soil of the cultivation area, as well as the savor of mature and dried fruit. It is quite full of taste, with a consistent presence in every sip.

Its dancing partner
It is a must with a rich chocolate (minimum of 70% cacao content)

Trivia
Though at the very top of the price range for Gran Canaria wines, López notes that he has spared no expense on viticulture to insure the creation of the best possible grapes.
