What this wine tells us
Few wineries have conferred as much prestige on this grape as this one. Here the “Prieto” is important because it demonstrates the local viticulturist’s knowledge in planting them at the highest point, away from the haze, and where we can still find vineyards over a hundred years old vineyards above 1,300 meters. It is not a very fruity wine, rather the opposite; it is spicey and vegetal, in this case an effect of the 400 liters American oak barrels. On the palate, its potency is salient and it has a bit of a sharp style that still needs some refinement. This wine has a soul, and should be stored.
Its dancing partner
A must with oven baked lamb.
It was the first 100% Listán Prieto on the market. It has received awards in various competitions of mountain viticulture.
