Ten brothers are the entrepreneurs who started this winery in Los Blanquitos (Southern Tenerife), making their first wine in 2002 in a building specifically designed for the project, employing a bioclimatic architectural concept that also accommodates big stainless steel containers and American and French oak barrels. “It is a wine that broke the rules of how things used to be done in the South of the island, and on the Peninsula it has been taken on by restaurants of the caliber of El Bulli,” explains.

The story begins in the 1950s in a pine grove region at 1,650 meters above sea level on the Los Frontones estate. The viticulturist Manuel Luengo Chillón planted 17 hectares of Listán Blanco and Listán Prieto grapes there, and every February after the pruning, a group of workers had to plow with mules for twenty seemingly never-ending days. At that time, the wine was still made at the winery up in the heights and was packaged in 16-liter kegs.

In the 80s, poor profits put an end to this noble and quixotic farming enterprise in a place that was almost impossible to access. But years later the children decided to take up viniculture again and built a three-hectare model winery at a lower altitude, an easy accessible estate with new vines in espalier. But they managed to maintain the exceptional quality that characterized Los Frontones’ grapes from the heights.
