What this wine tells us
Try it if you want to taste a quite different Listán (knowing that “different” doesn’t always please everyone). It bespeaks the austerity and endurance of a Listán that is more than 70 years old and grows in the ashes of the San Antonio volcano. Very subtle aromas, with light touches of dry and withered flowers. As it is common with this variety, the main value is on the palate, where we experience a false freshness that comes from its salinity, reminding us of sherry-like wines. It develops into a personal and flavorful wine that goes very well with a whole range of iodine-rich foods.
Its dancing partner
Great with plain striped soldier shrimp.
Trivia
Las Machuqueras is a charming area formed after the eruption of the San Antonio volcano (18th century). A combination of volcanic ash, haze, and the Atlantic Ocean.
